Mariner Foundation Supports The Jared Box Project
To involve associates in its charitable endeavors, Mariner Wealth Advisors created the Mariner Foundation, an associate-led charitable giving foundation with the primary purpose of supporting underprivileged children and their families. Recently, the Mariner Foundation donated to the Jared Box Project.
“The mission of the Jared Box Project, helping to lift the spirits of children in the hospital, is one that is easy to support,” said Rob Thomas, Managing Director at Mariner Wealth Advisors in State College, PA.
Ron Beyer, Director and Senior Wealth Advisor at Mariner indicated that “While this is a give-local concept, it is one that can be replicated across the country, and maybe even eventually around the world. Mariner and its employees, are happy to be able to contribute their time, energy, and financial resources to help lift the spirits of children who are hospitalized.”
Mariner Wealth CEO, Marty Bicknell, has long held the belief that, to whom much is given, much is expected. It is that belief that makes giving back to the community central to the firm’s culture. In 14 years, Mariner Foundation has granted over 5 million dollars to over 650 different organizations in 35 states. In 2022 alone they gave over $1M to 237 organizations.
“We are honored and overjoyed by the overwhelming support of the entire Mariner Wealth organization. The Jared Box Project continues to grow thanks to the kindness of others. This donation allows us to continue our mission of bringing joy and smiles to children in hospitals across the country.” said Cindy Kolarik, Executive Director, The Jared Box Project.
The Jared Box Project is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that was started in State College, Pennsylvania. The project was established in 2001 by the children of Our Lady of Victory School to honor their classmate and friend, Jared. Since then, more than 988,000 Jared Boxes have been made across the United States. Jared Boxes are the “gift of play” and are given to young patients in emergency rooms, hospital rooms, surgical centers, and clinics. Children and their parents are so thankful for these boxes that showcase the importance of play and are filled with well wishes, hope, and love.
